アジアの中央部、シベリア南部に位置する共和国。ロシア連邦に属する。人口約30万人。 首都はクズル(Кызыл)。面積は170,500km²(北海道二つ分ほど)。住民の約8割がトゥバ人。公用語はトゥバ語とロシア語。トゥバ語はテュルク語系の言語。宗教はシャマニズムとチベット仏教が盛んである。主な産業は畜産、鉱工業など。トゥバ人は元々は遊牧民として生活してきたが、現在では街に定住している人も多い。

A republic located in southern Siberia in the central area of Asia. It belongs to the Russian Federation. The population is about 300,000, of which roughly 80%
are Tuvans. The capital is Kyzyl (Кызыл). The area is 170,500km². The official languages are Tuvan and Russian; Tuvan is a Turkic language. Shamanism and Tibetan Buddhism are popular in the region, and the main industries are livestock and mining. Although Tuvan people have traditionally lived as nomads, now many of them have settled in the city.
